I swear by lansinoh nipple cream. $8 a tube and will last forever.

OP here. A BIG thanks to those who recommended the Elizabeth Arden cream...it worked like a charm! I bought it yesterday and the flaky feeling is gone this morning! I bought the fragrance-free one because there was something off-putting to me about the smell of tea tree oil on my lips. DH kissed me and objected to the feel of it but who cares?! Moisturizer lips at last!

Thanks to everyone else who replied too.

I read once that lips crack if you are missing certain nutrients. I had had chapped lips for two weeks straight despite trying different things. I remember that one recommendation was cantaloupe. So I ate a bunch the next day, and it really did work.

I have personally found petroleum products to not really help and even dry me out some. We use CJ's Butter (a cloth diaper safe ointment for anyone who's interested) the way most people use aquaphor. It's all natural, including I think coconut oil. Anyway, it feels amazing and really helps a lot.

I have also found many beeswax products to be drying, too, like Burt's.

I'm the PP who suggested it. I haven't tried that one, but I just use the regular tube ($15). Maybe the other one is more intensive, but I think this one is just fine (maybe you just have to use it a bit more frequently than the other one). The lip one is way over priced!
