no. they kill birds and wildlife. They are menaces.

Esp. if you live in an apt. like I do.
You do not need to bathe them nor do they need to be taken outside daily for a walk. They lick themselves to keep clean and they can stay inside for days.

Plus, they don't bark every time the doorbell rings nor do they jump on everyone that comes over.

They just keep to themselves and let their owners live their lives.
They can also be quite affectionate when they feel like it. Nothing better than snuggling with my warm kitty and a good book.

Depends on the cat, of course, but mine are very cuddly. Sometimes too much so. One of them likes to sleep on my shoulder/chest at night and I have to shove him off repeatedly so I can breathe!

I wipe my dogs paws frequently too.

Mine cleans her own paws methodically, including her paw pads, several times a day.

Her "brother" the cat is pretty cool, too.

I grew up with dogs, but am now a cat-owner due to living in a small space and not wanting to leave a dog home alone all day. I've really grown to enjoy cats.

I particularly love cat personalities -- cuddly one minute and a loner the next, for the most part.

Actually most pet cats I've known (mine and other people's cats) were not at all aloof.

But I will say, you seldom read in the news of a kid or adult dying from a cat attack... just saying.

I love cats. But I also love dogs.

They both can and do make fabulous pets. They both require work.

In order to maintain good litter habits, you have to keep the box clean -- really clean.

I would also add, that for those of you who have a cat who goes outside of the box, try feeding the cat wet food. Cats don't drink a lot of water and often have issues with constipation because they are fed dry kibble.

Try feeding your cat wet food.

Talk to your vet about anxiety medication as well. That can really help.

Most of the time when the vet says there's no physical issue, they really haven't ruled out all issues.

My cat struggled with constipation for years, and the vets didn't take it seriously. Once I started giving him miralax (confirmed it was okay with the vet), just a little sprinkled on his food, his litter box habits improved greatly.

I loved my dog, who died five years ago.

I love my two cats just as much.

All three of them were/are equally playful, cuddly, and affectionate. They're just different in how they express these traits.

I will say that our dog never puked up a hairball, which the cats do all the time. However, I much prefer cleaning out the litter box to cleaning up dog poop.

My cat is awesome, except when he bites me on the calf because he wants food or to go outside.

Dogs stink, in most cases literally.

"all dogs want to do is please you." Correct. Which is why your subjective "dogs are far superior" is just that, your subjective opinion.... I've had both, they both have their pluses and minuses, and having a dog who wants to please you demanding attention, etc., all day long, as they may do, may or may not be what you want in a pet.
