I like how they coordinated the beige and black in the picture you posted. I totally think you could make them work nicely.

Don't try to get overly matchy--they can be pretty neutral and classic like a black dress.

I'm the previous interior designer. I agree these aren't bad. But they are most definitely not blinds. Blinds would have been tacky in black.

Those aren't blinds. They are roman shades. Black blinds would be hideous. Roman shades are doable.

There is nothing about this room I would find relaxing. Nothing at all.

You said you were going to try to keep them. I don't get spending lots of money on furniture and bedding to match black curtains if you don't love them. Look at Smith & Noble. Plain Roman shades aren't expensive.

No, upon seeing people's suggestions, I'm going to keep them. I don't have any furniture to begin with, so I don't mind buying things that coordinate with them as long as they don't look offensive to me. If they were clashing with furniture and bedding I already have, that would be another issue. I know Smith and Noble, there are 5 very large windows in this room, so it's going to be expensive to replace them. They also match nicely with the ceiling fan in the room, which I forgot about, which is also expensive. I definitely would not replace them with something like plantation shutters.
