OP here. The rooms are large (14x12 each) but just 8' ceilings. Do you think it will be too big/low? The minimum height is 18 inches, so at would leave us 6.5 feet of clearance, which happens to be how tall my husband is (almost.)

do you even need overhead fixtures? I don't have any in my bedroom and I don't really mind. I have table lamps on the dressers and the nightstands, and many bedrooms have a switch by the door that turns on a light plugged into an outlet near the door.

That said, I like the Maskros and considered it for my daughter's bedroom but found something else before I could get down to Ikea.

I love the Mia - and I think I might go out and buy it myself for my DD.
