This is common for me too. I have kidney stones a lot. I've had over 30 of them so far, but most have been so small they weren't that painful to pass.

I have the same issue so was searching it and saw your question, If the doctor says it is nothing to be worried of then that is right but just in case that he has ruled out all the serious issues. I have been dealing with this since I was 21 years (now I am 26) but I did all the diagnosis then at the end doctor told me this is the way you are and no need to be worried about and so did I. But I had many urine tests at different times of the year, a cancer check ( which took a week only to get the samples and you shouldn't eat bfast before the test), blood tests, Radio graphy, Sonography, Spiral CT-scan with and without injection (this took a day) and finaly they wanted to do a DTPA or DPTA (I dont remember exactly) as it was nuclear and could make my body radioactive for sometimes I decided not to go for the last one and accepted it. But now I feel I need to urinate alot so that is why I am openin this old case: side pain and blood in the urine together with bladder issue. My suggestion be relax if the serious things are ruled out unless you see a change in your conditions

My dad had this and was finally diagnosed with ureter cancer after about 1.5-2 years of it. He was a smoker and has a cancer gene though. If you are/have been a smoker I would ask for further testing just to be safe.

I had blood in the urine a few times...Dr did not seem concerned. then, they found a 6 cm tumor on my Kidney. Kidney is out, no more blood in urine. And so far, only one metastasis.

My god 00:06 (OP here). The ovarian cyst saved your life. I am so glad you caught it in time. I will follow-up with docs about the trace blood. I think what you had is extremely rare, but I should still follow-up about this. Thank you for sharing your story and I am really glad you are ok and the cancer was caught in time.

00:06 here. I didn't have protein in my urine, either. They kept diagnosing me with UTIs based on the blood. I took a lot of antibiotics. Then I had an ovarian cyst burst, and the pain sent me to the ER where they gave me a CT scan to rule out appendicitis. That's when they found the very small tumor. They biopsied it and it came back negative, but about 40% of biopsies on that type of tumor come back with a false negative, so they kept an eye on it. It almost doubled in size in a year, so they took out that entire section of my kidney just to be safe (I had it done robotically at GWU). Pathology on it came back Stage 1 Grade 2 cancer, a pretty aggressive kind that would have been "a real problem," in my doctor's words, if they had not found it by chance the year before.

00:06, can you provide more info on your situation? My kidney function tests have been normal and no protein in urine - just trace blood on urinalysis (sent out for culture).

My GP thinks I have been dehydrated with the samples too but I thought I wasn't (have been trying to increase water intake).

That happened to me and I had kidney cancer. They caught it early and I'm fine, but I'd pursue getting checked out.

My DD had trace blood twice on the dip, but then when sent out to the lab, nothing. Our doctor said that nearly everyone who uses their strips-- kids and nurses-- has trace blood unless they were drinking tons of water. She said they weren't sure why-- either the strips were extra sensitive or something about the way the nurses were handling it. I've had trace rotein when I'm not well-hydrated. Some doctor's offices are able to run a more accurate urinalysis that accounts for urine concentration. I'd see if you doctor does that or how you can have that done. You can also request a 24-hour collection.

I too have what you are describing. Went to two different Urologists (has cystoscope; lab work, etc) and the diagnosis was "a certain percentage of the population has trace blood in their urine with an underlying cause or reason." Both told me to come back every couple of years....
