Lotus Cafe in SS for Vietnamese is also good.

and don't order the mussels. More than half were unopened and the broth is gross.

Cute place but way too expensive for what it is.

This. The food is hit or miss and it's expensive and slow service.

Hidden gems are meant to be a little grimy.

It's a deli so it's homespun. Grimy, no. They recently recovered the booths and replaced the flooring. It looks pretty okay as delis go. Food is excellent. Closest thing you'll get to a New York deli in these parts.

+1 -- go early, though, before the crowds

Has anyone tried Blue 44 in CCDC?

Yes, it is good solid food, but nothing special.

Technically, it's Silver Spring

Yep. Silver Spring. The neighborhood on the other side of the street, east side of Grubb, is Chevy Chase. And I second the vote for The Parkway Deli. I also like Black Market Bistro in Garrett Park and Addie's in Rockville. Also like Pho 95 in the Ritchie Center in Rockville, East Pearl and Sichuan Jin River on Rockville Pike and Spices Xing in Rockville Town Center. Ren's Ramen in Wheaton is good too.

Rockville - Moa I found a little bit better than Woomi garden in wheaton, though both were good.
Second Parkway.

My kids love Matchbox in Rockville, although I probably wouldn't call it "hidden". Seasons 52 is fairly similar. If your kids are a bit more adventurous, I've been really wanting to try Queen of Sheba on Nicholson Lane (near White Flint).
