Blue Lizard Sensitive.

There was a study a year or so ago that actually tested sunscreens for effectiveness. Even if they said "broad spectrum" or "SPF 30", they often weren't. Will look for the link.

We use California Baby. It works well and has a good EWG score, but it's sticky and I hate applying it. And it is so expensive!

Might try Blue Lizard or Waterbabies Pure and Natural when we run out of California Baby.

17:30 here. I'm AA and neither Bullfrog nor Kiss My Face make us look ashy. Avon's Skin So Soft sunscreen is another one that works well for us.

We use this California Baby SPF 30 sunblock stick.

For the PP above me, it does leave a white residue, but we are pretty white ourselves, so it does not particularly bother me, but if you are darker, I can see why it would be something you'd want to avoid.

I like it for DD b/c it is PABA free, non-chemical, fragrance-free. DD gets it on her 2x a day at daycare before they go outside, so that's why I paid more for it. On most things, I am a cheap Charlie!

We use this. Great coverage and it works well. It was moved from a 3 to a 2 on the ewg scale

Alba Very Emollient Unscented for Kids and/or Badger Unscented for Kids.

Burnout kids. Available on Amazon.

Another plug for water babies. Good toxicity score on EWG. Works well. Easy to see if you miss a spot. California Baby face stick for when we are out and about.

Water Babies Pure and Natural. It's a 2 on the EWG scale, you can find it everywhere, and it's reasonably priced. Seems to do the trick.

I worry about that sort of thing since I'm asthmatic. I have the kids turn their heads, then I spray it in my hand (which I hold down as low as I can) and rub it on.

Aveeno Baby. I've even used it on myself.

Only downside is it tends to look like it is washing off in the water. Like many sunscreens, you have to let it sit for a bit before going in the water with it. We've never had a burn while using it though.

Avon sunscreen bugspray combo. Works great for sensitive skin and bugs.

I've tried a ton of them and like Ocean Potion for kids. It's not as sticky as many and goes on smoothly. I've just purchased their new dab on spot sticks for the kids' faces (since they always complain about that). The other sticks I've used have been too hard - it can hurt to get enough on. This one is a lot better.

I use Banana Boat for me, so we get Banana Boat Kids SP50 for the kids. Works great and Fragrance Free (which we need in our house).
