Unfortunately the Southern cooking is way too heavy for us. Plus, I'm a Pittsburgh boy, so this is a taste of home to me (unless Primanti Bros want to open up shop in the area, but then I'd gain like 30 lbs).

What ever happened to the wagamama that was going to open in Penn Qtr? I've only been the London one - and I still remember it from my summer at UCL in 2000. The new Bahn mi/pho shop in Glover Park will have to suffice for now although Rice Bar downtown at 18th and K also does a good job with noodles.
DC needs neighborhood taco shops like I had in Chicago.
Also a sandwich place like Hanna's Bretzel (not a typo) from Chicago.
