Again, no money. I remember when our finances were like this. I think I did cry over a ruined chicken. Those of you who were nasty for no reason can make a donation to the food shelf!

OP here. It was indeed fine. Thank you for the help, and thanks to PPs who were sympathetic that our finances don't allow for mistakes like this now. Fingers crossed things are better soon. Glad the rest of you got a bit of a laugh -- I'm sure my post sounded mega silly to those with a financial cushion!

I will not eat chicken that is not washed. I do clean the sink after I wash it. You can find many other articles about food safety that say you should wash chicken. If you ever visit a place where chickens are raised and see what happens before you buy them you will wash your chicken.

you should not wash chicken before cooking it! you can pat it dry with paper towels if it's too wet for your seasoning to adhere properly.

You should wash chicken before roasting including inside, no chance of forgetting giblets then. If you don't stuff your chicken then it is better to split it on breast bone and lay out flat to roast - comes out more evenly roasted all over.

I typically agree, unless the family nay not have been able to eat otherwise. I would be heartsick too if I thought I couldn't feed my child because of a mistake I had made.
