When we lived nearby years ago, we LOVED Praline. Haven't been in years, but I bet/hope it's still good.
The atmosphere is very casual--not French and stuffy. The food is terrific, and if you're all about the French pastries, you're in the right place.

OP here, thanks for the recommendations! Yeah I figured there wasn't much in Great Falls itself, which is why I expanded the search area. There are people coming from both sides of the river, GF was just the preferred target for a litany of reasons I won't get into here!

Has anyone been to Praline bakery and bistro?

Unfortunately, in Great Falls and Tysons there is not a lot to chose from...mostly chains. You could go to the Tavern or Old Brogue, but not sure if that is what op wants.

Go to Nostos. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Generic Chain, Generic Local Chain, Generic Snooty Mini-chain, Generic Chain, Never Heard of It, Can't Pronounce It, Mid-Grade Chain, Supposedly Healthy Mid-Grade Chain.

Heh. The one you've never heard of is Wildfire in Tyson's II, and is also a chain.

I was also wondering why the PP was recommending every chain steakhouse in DC, when the OP clearly said Great Falls. Then I remembered they have all this crap in Tyson's now.
