How do you know that it's a bad middle school? What is the source of your information?

Kingsview MS is the bad Ms that goes to northwest. Most parents I know are happy with Ridgeview MS and Lakelands MS who both go to QO. Part of Darnestown goes to Travilah ES who then goes to Wootton which is good.

I live in Darnestown so I can tell you. Darnestown ES goes to lakelands ms, then later to Northwest HS. The rest of Lakelands ms goes to Quince Orchard. It sucks to have your kids get split from their friends for high school. My DC went to Darnestown Es and lakelands, and we ended up being able to transfer to Quince Orchard since Northwest is good but the only nice area that feeds into it is Darnestown and Dc didn't like the other kids from Darnestown es since its only so big. Part of Darnestown goes to Jones lane es, which is a great school as well and is zoned for Quince Orchard. You could always move to Darnestown Es area and then try to transfer to Quince Orchard for high school though it is not always possible. Some of Dc's friends from darnestown es go to QO but most went private. Even though darnestown ES is better for ES, I would recommend moving instead to Jones Lane ES area or other areas around QO. You could always move to Darnestown and then move once your kids are in middle or high school so they will stay with their friends.

Sure. There’s a different principal. School is still tiny. Nice community.

We are looking to purchase a home that feeds into Darnestown elementary and Lakelands middle school.

Looks like OP has done her research and know where the home is.

But then she said that she was looking near Harris Teeter which may or may not go DE/LMS.

OP asked about Darnestown ES, not the Darnestown community (which according to the Post office is Gaithersburg, so there's really no official line of where Darnestown begins and ends). No students at DES go to Wootton, so none of this is relevant to the OP's inquiry.

Save your time. Its Ridgeview.

Also kingsview.

Darnestown residents can go to QO or Wooton.

The OP mentioned Lakelands middle school.

I am not sure where the cut off is for Darnestown but there is a chance that some kids go to Kingsview MS and Northwest (but that cut off is more the Potomac side of Darnestown - like Seneca RD)

Some Lakelands kids go to Northwest. Not sure where the cut off is for that.

The OP wants Darnestown/Lakelands/QO.

Nobody in Darnestown goes to Wootton. They either go to Quince Orchard or Northwest depending on which side of 28 they live on.

There is part of Darnestown that goes to Wooton.

Negative. The cut off line is about seven blocks SOUTH of Quince Orchard High School. There is no way in hell that anyone all the way up 28 in Darnestown goes to Wootton. You are either confused about where Darnestown is or you don't know where you live.

Give me a street in "Darnestown" that you think goes to Wootton.

Crossland lane is in Darnestown, they go to Travilah ES, Robert Frost MS and Wooton.

"Locals". = Kids to be avoided.

Not saying that at all. I'm saying the Catholic school has a wait list for middle because there is a lot of unhappiness with one of the public middle schools from what I've heard second hand.
