It all depends on which group of parents has the ear of the SB representative. There is no logic.

This whole thing is bizarre. Months ago the school board voted to redistrict some rising 3d grade LA center kids to the new center at Westbriar - with transportation - and no mention of Colvin Run at all. I haven't heard of a countermanding school board vote since then. This makes me wonder if these letters just have typographical errors or something. Where did all this come from?

Yes, but I think this is about a child going into 4th grade at a school that still feeds to Louise Archer for AAP such as Flint Hill, Wolftrap, Vienna, or Cunningham Park.

Entitlement? what entitlement are you speaking of? you mean the one that FCPS has on their website that states clearly that Cunningham Park is in the Madison pyramid which is assigned to Louise Archer and Luther Jackson for AAP centers?
that is not an entitlement. And these rising fourth graders should not be treated differently than other rising fourth graders in the same pyramid. That is called equality.

No offense, but if it is so overcrowded, they should make all the stenwood and westbriar kids go to an AAP center in their pyramid (Marshall, no grandfathering), rather than displacing the kids in the Madison pyramid. This is madness!!
Agreed. Sympathize with the logistical challenges for some, but the entitlement on this board is nauseating.

my friend's 3rd grader is at Cunningham Park. We do not have a local level IV so Louise Archer is the only option.
she lives in the town and as far as I have heard, louise archer is the center for AAP.

15:06 here. I got the letter offering the spot to my current 3rd grader at Colvin Run. Also got a letter for my 2nd grader offering her a spot at Westbriar or LLIV. We are moving to another school in the next few months, so I think that will get me out of driving the two kids to different centers. Hoping with the new address both children will be placed at LA.

Might depend on the base school. Also might be an issue for rising 3rd graders vs. 4-6th graders.
