Nutella is a wonderful, healthy way to start the day for the whole family.

Anyone know of one?

we buy Dulce de Leche from the latin market, which is essentially a caramel spread. We put it on toast or thomas' english muffins. SO GOOD.

As for the nutella, DH just eats it with a spoon. The bread crumblyness gets worse if its old/ refrigerated, but fresh shouldn't do too much damage. You've gotta put it on nice and thick

It wouldn't last an hour on my kitchen counter!

Nutella has a pretty high sugar content and can be kind of runny for my taste. I love the chocolate peanut butter spread by the peanut butter company (blue colored lid). They sell it at target and whole foods. I prefer it to regular peanut butter and jelly. I think it only has like 6 grams of sugar compared to 20+ for nutella. I am ashamed to admit how many jars I go through

You can get two huge jars for $10 at Costco.

I saw a Philadelphia cream cheese/caramel spread in the supermarket the other day. They also had chocolate.

I made a mental note.

Yum! Thank you, I will check that out!

Yes it is that messy. But it is divine. If you don't find it worth the mess, well you're doing it wrong

Key though is mentioned above. Good French bread (you know the stuff they lug around sticking out a bag -- it is tough unlike stuff you buy pre-sliced).

I prefer spoon. It's healthier b/c you save the carbs for the sugar
