"nonprofit" is just too broad. there are wide variations among nonprofits.

i know mid-level staff at two nonprofits, one an association, one an advocacy group (senior associates) = $65k

i don't know brookings salaries, but i know they are significantly less than pew. i think the glassdoor info on pew salaries is pretty accurate.

I was going to say the same thing- my aunt and mother are hair dressers in albany NY and make about 75K-80K, working a lot of hours. They are both scaling back as they age but still make $50-60 (they have pretty identical businesses so I am guessing on the aunt), which is good money in the 'burbs!



Yes, my hairdresser at a non-upscale (but in upscale suburb) clears 100k easy. She's been working a while as has a strong client list.

Know: Partner - management consultancy - $250,000 base plus bonuse up to $1m (not me - I wish)

My cleaning lady..$150.00 for my whole house plus making my daughter breakfast and getting her ready for school.
