I am talking about top school MBA program, as I would not want to invest time/money if not getting into any of these top name schools. But are they really worth it and if you have been in a dead end job and dead end industry, can this assist you in opening some new doors, previously shut. Also, would you do this in your late 30s, early 40s, or is this going to be perceived as something strange?

What is M7? I went to a top school for my MBA, always top 10, generally top 5 depending on who is doing the ranking, and I've never heard this.
Not everyone uses it. Its the supposed magnificent seven.
HBS
Booth
Kellogg
Sloan
Stanford
Wharton
Columbia
In no particular order.
Interesting. My alma mater is actually ranked higher than several of those in most rankings but apparently doesn't make the M7 grouping. And I was admitted to 3 of those and chose a different one. Oh well - back to counting my money.
