I've been wanting to try that. But I heard some mixed things, so I'm holding off.

Uncle Julios's in Bethesda is easy and fun too.

If you like mediocre Americanized "Mexican" with really hit-or-miss service, surrounded by running, screaming kids.

It's a chain, just like Clydes, McCormick and Schmick, etc. They have a consistent product that meets a certain threshold for quality. It's better than most places, but can be outdone by the creativity of an independent restaurant serving the same dish with greater latitude to make adjustments depending on what is in season, or qualities of product received at that time. Advantage of a chain is usually that product quality is pretty standardized so you know what to expect every time you go.

I have not been to the one here, but have been to others in Chicago and Vegas and both meals were good, just not memorable.

Black's has the best food in Bethesda, and a decent bar.

Private table at Boundary Road! Awesome and affordable and right in the thick of H street bar scene.

Also, it's much better than Redwood, IMO. Though I've heard Redwood has gotten better. It sucked about a year and a half ago; I haven't been back.

Stop living your life by reviews, and try it for yourself.

It's reliable, and the steak frites are terrific. Is it an 11 out of 10? No. Is it always an 8.5, every time? Yes.
