Congrats, that's wonderful.
Just as it's important to not give false hope, however, it's important to not make false comparisons. The situation you are describing is really different than OP's - she doesn't have the same dismally rising betas as it sounds like you did; furthermore, it is not super common to experience what you and the next poster did.

I have a story very similar to 9:40's, a transvaginal u/s which showed an empty sac, a blood test to get a beta, then when checked iwth the next u/s, a fantastic heartbeat. That one is 4.5 years old now! Keep your chin up OP and try not to dwell on your betas. I have had two m/c and have been through four pregnancies with beta hell. It is horrible to have to wait on those tests. Wishing you a positive outcome!

Would you want false hope? I surely didn't. I'd want to know good and bad stories to prepare myself. We all want the best for OP but things don't always turn out successfully with low rising betas.

Oh and I'm not sure about everyone on here, but I went through ivf as well, several times actually, so my replies are not without merit.


OP doesn't have low rising betas. Her first beta was very high, and therefore won't necessarily double in 48 hours.

OP: since you are over 2,000, something should show up on ultrasound. Have you had one?

Thank you for the encouragement, PPs. It is so comforting to know that some of you encountered similar beta rises and all was well with your pregnancies. I am encouraged by the prospect that this may be normal for higher betas but am also preparing myself a bit for the what ifs. But the encouragement and positive stories are helpful. Thank you. - OP

I had two successful IVF cycles (one twin, one singleton--kids are now 6, 6, 3) and my Betas never doubled within 48 hours. They took 60+ hours each time.

What in the hell is wrong with you? It's one thing to be realistic but OP has gotten good responses here already, including Jins, which was relatable, plus a direct link to a site that says her betas are rising just FINE. I would get it if the OP was like please don't get off track, but what are you, the DCUM thought police? Why do you care this much that OP only gets negative replies?

Still wouldn't make me feel better if I was the OP. I'd be looking for non- doubling success stories not low betas. Hopefully someone with an applicable experience that turned out successful will apply.

The OP doesn't have low rising betas. Her beta should be doubling every 72 - 96 hours as she is over the 1300 threshold. I get your point, PP, but at the same time, people come on this site for reassurance, not negative thoughts (they usually can create plenty of those by themselves).

I had a vanishing twin twice and absolutely no bleeding either time. My betas only rose 65% in 48 hours and were lower than OP's.

Are you having any bleeding OP. that's more an indication of a vanishing twin - bleeding coupled with slow rising betas. One thing about betabase though is those are betas entered by people, not the medical field.
