12:12 here again. PP, how do you know what your WL # is? We don't even know if they are having a sibling only lottery at this point. I know that there are many parents with 3 yo's this year with sibling preference-- we don't even know if there are enough spots for all of the siblings at this point. I also have no idea how many rising PK-4's are moving up into K. These 2 factors alone will effect your wait list #. Unless your are hypothetically saying you have a low wait list #, I don't know how you'd have a # yet.

I also know that many people who were down the wait list last year, got calls in the summer (sometimes late summer) and offered spots. So keep positive.

They have to distinguish between PS3 and PK4, because they can't have 3 times as many PK4 kids - that would be a nightmare when transitioning into K.

The year my child was in PK4 at Stokes, he was only one of 5 children moving from PK4 into K that year. So the next year- there were more PK-4s and not many PS-3 spots that year. Coincidentally, there were many children that got spots in K that year. So, although your theory makes sense, I'm not sure they can do it exactly balanced between 3 yo and 4 yo.

Will the email that goes out on Apr 8 go to all parents who applied? Or just current Stokes parents?

I get Stokes wanting to do their own thing, but it is a huge bummer that their lottery is so far behind the others. It's not like they have more to figure out than other schools....

If a kid needs a Pre-K 4 slot is that treated differently from needing a pre-k 3 slot. I know that both are housed together, but with Pre-k 4ers going to K the following year, is that differentiated from the Pre-k 3ers? Just trying to guage if there all lumped into one group or will my pre-k 4er only be competing with kids that need pre-k 4 slot. I know it's a long shot either way.

As an update to those waiting on Stokes. Parents will get emails on April 8th informing us of whether there will be a lottery held, and for which grades. That's what the person in charge of the lottery told me, at least.

ok, got it. So even though I didn't submit until 8 pm, I could have a very small chance of being picked in the lottery. but almost no chance of getting in off the waitlist.

Time stamp is for waitlist order only. They do not perform a lottery for waitlist- this is done by timestamp. The lottery is performed for available slots.

The waitlist is set up AFTER the lottery is been performed.

If the waitlist is ordered by time stamp, why is there a lottery? why don't they just fill the spaces and then keep the waitlist in the order of applications received? am I missing somethgn? or is it only open slots that are by order of received application and then the waitlist is lottery?

You will not get a number until the lottery and waitlist is done.
