Oh, and the laser can tell if you're moving your eyes. They will numb them and hold them open. If you happen to move your eyeball the laser will know and stop. I have no idea if I moved mine or not, but whatever happened it went well.

I had mine about 6 weeks ago at TLC in Rockville with Dr. Holzman. Dr. Whitten works in Charlottesville or something now, but Dr. Holzman was great.

I didn't have sedatives but they did offer me Valium. They prop your eyes open one at a time so you can blink all you want. It won't affect the procedure b/c the rubber device just won't allow your eyes to shut. They do give you tons of drops to numb your eyes plus antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Once your eyes are numb, they will touch your eyes a lot and you probably won't even realize it.

My DH had his done by Dr. Harry Huang in Bethesda.

His lasik was for a combination of cataract removal and vision correction. After over 50 years of being incredibly nearsighted (enough to keep him out of the Army and classifying him as legally blind without glasses) he now doesn't need glasses at all. He does experience mild blurriness when driving at night, but nothing that really gets in the way. He's been very happy with his experience.

I had mine done 3 months ago at TLC with Holzman. My eyes were -6.5 and -8, with astigmatism in one eye. No complaints. My eyes are a bit more sensitive to light, and still a little dry, but I think that's normal.

I had it done in 2001. I'm still happy with the results.

I was -2.5 and -4. Had Lasik by Dr Whitten in 2007 and a touchup in the -4 eye 6 mos later. The major long-term effects I've noticed is that I see better with glasses in low light, although I had to argue to get them to give me a scrip for them since the astigmatism I now have is so weak they don't usually correct for it, but I notice the difference. Also my eyes are more sensitive to very very bright sunlight than I remember them being, but maybe that is aging-related?

If I never hear a word about tiger woods' eyes again it'll be too soon.

Curious, if any others could please share what their prescriptions were?
