OP here. Like I said, I would never tell her what to do. I love and respect her and this he their (my uncle) decision. I just said both my cousin and I were surprised at her willingness to proceed with the pregnancy - funny how that is what surprised us more so than the fact that she got pregnant to begin with. In any event, I just wanted to know how many people would consider proceeding with the pregnancy. And just to clarify, I stated in my earlier post that perhaps the reason my cousin and I were not receptive to this news may have been due to our most recent challenges with our one children. Thank you for responding to those of you who answer yes or no.

Please read my initial post. My cousin lives in NYC with her husband and son. Her brother lives in NC. My aunt and her husband both live overseas. We (my cousin and I) are like sisters as we were born the same year. And just for the background, many African women can and do get pregnant after 50. We just thought it was strange that she would consider having a child at this age given the age of her older children and having been a pediatric nurse. She no longer works, but provides advise and prematal care to pregnant women in subs sharan Africa. I am not making this story up.

Absolutely not. My story is similar to your aunt (first baby at 15, been with father for 19 years, married for almost 12).

I'm 32; my children are 17, 13, 10 & 4. Under no circumstances would I have another baby, PERIOD, let alone at 50.

It's quite likely she got pregnant because she was no longer taking precautions because she assumed she was too old to get pregnant. But her decision to keep the baby is hers to make and not really yours to judge. She's had kids before, so she presumably knows what she's getting into, and you say she's financially stable. Are you so certain that if you got pregnant at 50 you'd abort or give up the child for adoption?

Tell your Aunt congratulations and then move on to worrying about your own kids. Your aunt knows what raising kids is like. You and your cousin are acting like catty mean girls.
