People, these are what earmarks are, actually what they used to be.

The bus grant program spends billions every year. Prior to ignorant public outrage, members of Congress would submit their requests to fund local projects. I say ignorant b/c these requests originate in the local communities and generally each entity pays 1/3. Local, state and federal.

Now all of these decisions are made by bureurocrats inside the DOT. So now Congress has no say....

I'm trying to keep an open mind about the streetcar plan, because I think that South Arlington could use an opportunity to revitalize. But things like this make me concerned about the logic employed by the planners.

Ugh, the metal on the benches looks like fun to sit on in June ... it'll be ice-cold in the winter and burning hot in the summer.

I'd want it better protected against the cold too for that price.

The cost ... very pricey unless you have curb/gutter work involved as well.

A dog would be happy in abandoned lot. The construction on that Trump Plaza dog park is now approaching 1 year and it does not look anywhere near completion. Insanity.
