Sure, if his clients live next door to each other.

The reality is that most high school kids who walk dogs are going to have 1 customer. So, if you're going to hire one you need to make it worth their while to rush home, and forgo other opportunities every afternoon. While the task might only take 30 minutes, it's the same level of sacrifice as babysitting for a couple hours, or mowing someone's lawn afterschool. So you need to make it worth their while.

OK, I'll just dump my senior dog at the pound then. To heck with the 9 years we've spent together.

Why on earth do you not walk your dog yourself?

Do you ever worry about your dog loving the dog walker more than what he loves you?

Every day, as I leave the house, I tell my dog "Got to buy the doggy food!". He understands why I work.

I think the snarky PP means that YOU should be walking your 9 year old dog....

Or, you know, we have jobs. Arlington, $200/month for weekday 15 min walks. Since my dog goes for longer walks before and after work, I liked that this place offers shorter walks (for less $).

I agree that ideally if you own a dog you should take responsibility for walking it but there are circumstances that may not allow this. I regularly walk my dog but because of a recent surgery, I need to hire a dog walker for a couple of months. I also know people can't physically get out to walk but still want to experience the love and companionship a dog can bring. Maybe ask why before assuming the worst.

$15 to a neighbor who has a dog walking business (live in the city). I think it can be a bit more expensive in the 'burbs because walkers have to travel further between clients.

$19 for a 25-minute walk for 2 dogs. This is in Fairfax County.

Eye-opener. No idea a dog-walker was so expensive!
