++ pizza leftovers are good, and you can always freeze 'em for a quick dinner down the road, don't try to order 'just enough' to have nothing left. I hate it when there's clearly not enough food to even have one piece of pizza at lunch or dinnertime lol.

Really depends on the venue and time. House party in the evening where everyone is lingering around the food--order more. Kids gym with a hurried 30 minute slot for pizza and cake at 11:00am-- i bet no more than 2 parents take a slice of pizza. Since you have only 2 year olds, id say between 6-8 pizzas. But if you plan on 8, you may fine the pizza places have deals that encourage you to get 10 for pretty much the same price. That happened to me last time, and we came home with about 4 whole pizzas.

recently ordered 10 pizzas for a similar size party and ended up taking 4 home. I think 8 is plenty - and you'll still end up with extra. I would guess 1 slice per kid and 1.5 per adult - I think only half the adults will have more than one piece.

I used to work at a kids' activity center and the average was 4 (3-6) for any size party, including the numbers you're saying. The people who got 8 or 10 we thought were nuts, and they were never finished.

But then you can always take them home or give to the staff if you have a great time!

Yessssssss! I hate when ppl are like "turns out one footling feed our entire party"... It's like yes you ordered one sub for 16 ppl and had 2 little sections left bc everyone saw there was not enough food and didn't help themselves! We're Italian and I have not done my job if you don't go home absolutely stuffed! DC doesn't know how to throw a party!

My husband is the type to get "just enough" food and I'm the type to get more than enough. One time I was sick and he bought the food for our party. I was mortified at the lack of food.

I also am amazed when I go to parties and some kid doesn't get a drink, because the host brought exactly the number of juice boxes per kid. And then of course some sibling takes one, or some kid grabs two. And so some kid is sitting there thirsty for two hours (this was an outdoor party, no other drinks were offered).

But the other posters make a good point that the number of pizzas do depend on if there is other food. Also depends on the parents. Are these the type that will eat? Or are they the type of moms that seem to be trying to deny that they have ever eaten in their life.

I would have ordered 12 and I wold have been expecting left overs. I want my guests to eat.

I think this really depends on what time of day it is. Last time I was at a party like this, it was in a 3-5 time slot, and the eating was at around 4:15 or so. I skipped the pizza altogether because I'm just not hungry at 4 in the afternoon. I noticed a lot of the other parents didn't eat any either. If it had been a party around lunchtime, I would have eaten 2 slices (assuming there was enough).

I ordered 7 and a pie and a half was left, so I could have ordered 6. It was at a JW Tumbles type place so the eating time was short, and there were other snacks, so I'm sure that's why. If this is a house party where there's more than 30 minutes for eating, then I agree that people will need more food.

Six is fine if you have other food (snacks, etc.).
