Not everybody needs a million.

$250K is nothing - you need at least $1 million. Calculate the extra income your parents would need for about 20 years to raise your child, plus $250K for college. It's probably about $1 million+.

If you are a Fed, get it through WAEPA - it's a fraction of the cost. It's cheaper than thru work I think too (although I'd keep that too).
