I love, love, love those truffles. And the chocolate covered orange peels.

Just happened to see this recent post on Design Mom (she is currently living in France):

But what I really love are her post about French pharmacy finds. I got several items off of her pharmacy list when we were last there:

I love their cheapo ground coffee. I think it's in a red bag: Grandmere or something. You can get it at Franprix.
I like their junk jewelry from Tati or Prisunic. There's a Tati at Place de la Republique, an interesting area which has gentrified tremendously over the past ten years.
If you are a Marie Claire reader they have recommendations on unique to France beauty products. I have gotten beauty stuff for girlfriends.
I splurge on Charvet ties for hubby.

I am going in May and want to buy antique prints. My family has a collection of gorgeous teaching prints that I would like to add to. Where can I find them?

A Breton cake called a "Kouinn Amann." When you return to the US, you just put it in the oven for about 10 minutes at about 300 degrees.....it is heavenly!!! I've been going back & forth between the US & France for many years, and this is what I always bring back to the US. Can't go wrong.

You can read about the amazing kouinn amann here ---http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2009/11/the-best-kouign-amann-in-paris/

Another option is to wait until your flight back from Paris - there was a Laduree in my terminal so I was able to stock up on macarons - delicious and such a luxury. Also there was a duty free L'Occitane. Other high end duty free shops too. Then you can carry everything on the plane and not worry about fitting things in your luggage.

A nice bottle of wine. Brought back six bottles wrapped in bubble wrap and a towel. No problems.

If you were going to Paris, my favorite city, I would ask you to bring me back some interesting items from the grocery store

WINE!

Sorry, just thought I'd be a PITA.

Mariage Freres tea is lighter and easier to pack.

If you know what kind of makeup your friends might like, go to Sephora. While that seems like a dumb idea, Sephora in France carries lots of brands and products not found in the US. I was there last summer and I'm going back with my sister in May to shop! My husband was not into shopping last year.
