On a pipestem. So near 66 that you have to be able to hear the noise from 66. I wouldn't even consider this house.

I remember when that lot/other house was for sale, it was initially listed at well over a 1.3M! And eventually sold for $750K for the two lots/1 house. That developer is going to make a fortune regardless, especially if he does the same thing on the other lot.

Are you kidding? I'd never get to the power lines. The mere fact that this house is both fugly and over $1 million would send me running.

However, it definitely has not sold like hotcakes. It's an example of a nice house in FCC that doesn't sell because it's so overpriced.
I've been in that house, it's nice solid and lovely. But definitely overpriced. This one came on the market at the same time and sold very quickly (for a house over 1M) : http://www.redfin.com/VA/Falls-Church/428-Great-Falls-St-22046/home/12033200
The great falls house was a much better deal at $301 / Sq. Ft, MUCH bigger, better maintained and better updated on the interior.
Also, why did they raise the price on the Walden Ct listing by $999?

It's a great fit for us and I don't mind paying extra for it. It's more than test scores, it's the community and having a school district where everyone knows my kid- priceless (well, maybe not priceless!). Plus the walkability in FCC is way higher than in FFX, much higher quality of life (for me and what I was looking for).
Too high of a price to pay. FCC is a depressing little city full of old houses, dark streets, no sidewalks... it's all a hype!
