No, I went by myself. I had the day off just in case, but it all went off smoothly so I went and checked out a museum exhibit afterward.

I'm a PP and just wanted to add that I had my HSG in January and just had a BFP this week! The nurse who did my beta blood draw this morning said - wow, that's great, another HSG story! So there can be an upside.

15:31 here - just wanted to drop a note to 13:35 - I too had major white coat anxiety - major major - and didn't take valium in advance, but probably should have - but my RE knew my fear and let me go first in the line up. I did IF, a million blood draws and sonos during pregnancy, and had a c-section. Just finished first round of new IF treatments (one year post c-section) and have attended everything from HSG to monitoring/blood draws on my own - I guess what they say about exposure therapy is true - the HSG was a non-event to me this time - showed up, had it, went to work. Last time it was an all day nervous nellie ordeal I had someone with me for every single test, draw, sono last time. . .

No. I felt I didn't need it (I am sure he would have had I requested it). By the time all is said and done, there were so many appointments, it was easiest just to have him at the important ones. I took a couple of advil before the appointment and really had no issue at all.

Yes, and I was glad he was there even though the test ended up being totally painless. But back then I still had hospital phobia and took not only 1,200mg of ibuprofen, but also a valium.

Now I have overcome my hospital phobia one laparoscopy, one IVF, and one c section later. I might do the HSG on my own if I ever were to do one again.

I subsequently had a baby post-IF, and found the HSG pain to be comparable to labor but much shorter. I think it is a crap shoot pain-wise, so hope for the best!

No. I did mine with CFA at Washington Radiology. Sacks does them all right adter the other. I took the day off and felt silly - totally could have made it a quick appt instead. It was such a quick thing. A little uncomfortable but not bad. I would have felt very drammatic and silly if I brought DH. He would not have been allowed back and if he had it would have been weird and I would not want him to see me like that! One or 2 other women had their DH's with them in the waiting room which I'm sure was fine for the support. I would rather save his time for other more important appts. I kind of made a big deal out of it internally after reading horror stories and it was so totally no big deal. Good luck!

Yes, and came in the room. I found his presence comforting and supportive. I also found the test quite uncomfortable ..

no. I went straight to work. I would have been really uncomfortable with him there. They way I Was strapped up with my knees in my face 100% exposed in every way possible, no thank you. My husband did not need to see that. He probably would've passed out.

He did for moral support, but it wasn't necessary at all.
