+1 I have a cheap clip I use for the car. I prefer clip ons, but they were so ugly. The traditions work well for me.

They don't look great, but they are extremely convenient. They DO darken in the car, and the lag in lightening/darkening in response to new light conditions is not excessively annoying.

I just got them after not having any for years - I am inside and out of doors all day long and live where the sun is bright. I HATE the ones I just purchased and will never do it again. They have a horrible pink tinge even when inside and never become truly clear, the ones I had before did become clear indoors. These glasses cost me a bundle and since I have no insurance I will be stuck with them for some time to come. One other thing I've learned you are not supposed to wear transitions when doing things like cleaning house with things that are sprayed like windex, etc. Over spray can ruin the coating. Royal pain, I can't see well enough to clean without my glasses - guess I'll have to wear a face visor as well LOL.

My transition lens started wrinkling or cracking in the polymer coating after about 2years. Very disappointed in these lenses. Will not buy again.

My DH had a pair five years ago. I thought they made him look like black John Lennon on downers. Of course I never told him this, I would just pile on the complimens when he wore regular glasses. Lol!! Maybe the current versions look better. Still hoping he doesn't do a transitions lens redux though.

Even the woman at my optical shop said she doesn't understand why anyone would get them. They always remind me of 1980's nerdy kids.

I hate Transition lenses. They never get dark enough for me, as I have very light sensitive eyes. As others said, it takes time for them to turn, and even when they do they don't get as dark as a dark pair of sunglasses. And I don't think they ever get perfectly clear, so I just don't like the look indoors.
Also, they don't work in your car if you have a certain kind of windshield, which I did when I tried them two years ago. So they were useless in the car, which is a big place I need sunglasses.
I took them back and got a pair of prescription sunglasses. Yes, a pain to be switching glasses, but for me the quality of the protection is SO much better with true sunglasses that there is no question its the better option.

My lenses are perfectly clear inside and they darken and lighten pretty quickly. I've always put my glasses on my head when going into buildings because I've most lived in places where is was winter for six months and my glasses would always fog up. It's too bad they don't transition in the car because my prescription sunglasses bubbled or something and I don't have a back up pair of those.

I like them (2+ years now). I don't notice the darkening/lightening. Great for commute/work.

Only peeve is that they don't darken in the car (windshield blocks UV rays), so I have a separate sunglasses for the car (I ride Metro, so I don't drive often).

I had transition lenses and hated them.

I love them....in particular that they stay dark a for few minutes post strolling in the office in the morning.....

this is what i do! hahaha! i walk to the elevator at work blind as a bat cause i don't want to look like i'm that person wearing shades inside.

I hated mine. I'll never get them again. They took way too long to lighten up after coming inside.
