Stokes is my top choice, would like French immersion, but would be happy with Spanish.

For Prek4, we skipped:

-YY (was excited initially but Mandarin is impractical for our fam)
-Creative Minds (just not interested)
-EL Haynes (applied for PreK3)
-2Rivers (applied for PreK3)
-Cap City(applied for PreK3)
-IT (went to an open house last year, seems like a nice school but something was missing for me, so didnt apply)
-Appletree (was never interested though its a good program)

Applied to Stokes, MV, LAMB, Sela (not sure about this), and bilingual DCPS schools. DD is already enrolled in a school I am happy with for now.

Do not underestimate the harmful effects of a stressful commute on young children. The benefit of the second language would be minimal or negated.

I would love to have my children get the second language. But not if it means dragging them on an extra hour of a commute a day, since it would probably add another half hour for us each way to go to the new location. Maybe you should start from the position that everyone here is trying to do what's best for their family instead of lashing in out in so much anger.

PK- Also skipped MV, Stokes, LAMB and YT because we don't have high priority for language. To comment on another post earlier about IT, I hear nothing but rave from parents from IT in addition to CM so they are on top of list.

Does anyone have an opinion about CAPCS PK3 on Allison St? It's pretty close for us.

We skipped Mundo Verde and LAMB because not interested in Spanish. Did not apply to YY because we are PK3. We will have sibling preference for PK4 at YY.

NP. MV is moving... near 2R. Commute will be about the same for both.

^I hope you are talking about Basis and Latin b/c for PK3/PK4 there isn't any difference between a liberal arts focus vs a STEM focus.

We didn't try for some because of the distance and skipped the ones that highlighted science in tehri school descriptions because I want more of a creative/liberal arts focus.
