Hello, just curious for more info since you posted very recently. We were just offered a spot for toddler, moving up to preschool room shortly for CDC1. We've been doing the drop in care for a few weeks and I'm concerned just from the interactions that I see at drop off they aren't really engaging the kids as much as what I saw at our last base. For instance, at our last base, every morning we'd walk in an see them with some activity like drawing/painting at the table or singing/dancing in one area or reading a book to the group. Just something more organized to start them off with and help with separating them at drop off from parents. Walking into CDC 1 at JBAB though, the caregivers appear to just sit somewhere and monitor what the kids are doing. They've definitely been helpful when they see my kid's upset that I'm leaving and they engage more then. And my kid hasn't brought home any artwork or scribbles which we got almost daily from the last CDC we were at. Just makes me wonder what they do all day? I do plan to do a better tour and ask them more about the program in person but would like to hear any thoughts you have too. Our last base CDC was our first so we had no expectations of what the care would be like, I think we were spoiled. Just wonder how this CDC program compares. Appreciate any thoughts.

My son goes to CDC1 and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. His teachers are fantastic and he's a happy boy everyday when I pick him up.

To the person who suggested that persons from Anacostia are uneducated or might provide less adequate care to children, you should visit the center before you arbitrarily pass judgement on these folks. Geographical location, race, (which is why I assume your friend made her rude comment) and education level don't necessarily reflect one's ability to care for a child...nor does living in Anacostia make you uneducated. It was disheartening to read your post, knowing the wonderful women who care for my baby...

I can't recommend the center enough! There is no better feeling than the reassurance that my child is being well looked after while I am at work.

My daughter goes to cdc2 and we love her teachers and she loves them too. She has been going 4 months. She is 8 months old.
