Well I just tried calling the Fertility and Cryogenics lab and the number they list on their website is temporarily unavailable. I will try calling the other lab that some of you thought had closed.

I should add that I did do this serveral years ago when I had an HMO (not MDIPA) and it worked. They covered one round of testing through RFU. I saved a lot of money but the down side is that it took several months to get pre-approval and it was a huge pain.

LRMI is the lab in CA if I'm not mistaken, and I think it's run by Dr. Winger. I'm sure Reprosource will mail whatever you want wherever you want, but it's up to the doctor to decide where to order the test from. RFU and LRMI are the only two labs in the country that run these particular immune tests.

As Dr. B's patient I had my labs done through Dr. Abbasi and RFU and he had no problem with it. I think I'll ask him if he prefers one over the other or not.

You dont have to use Reprosource but many doctors do. And many of us don't know about RFU. It is also a pain to ship your own blood b/c it can easily get messed up. These labs send shipping kits which is foolproof.

Why do you have to use Reprosource? If you want to make sure the blood goes to a particular lab, mail it yourself. That's what I did just a few weeks ago. I gave the doctor's order to Inova Outpatient Services, and a nurse drew the blood and gave it back to me to mail to RFU. It's a pain in the butt, but better than having to pay for the tests yourself even though you have insurance coverage.

Had I paid out of pocket for everything the Beer Center initially ordered, it would have cost $1,200.

10:29 - then your friend didn't use Reprosource. There's no way it went to RFU. I just recently used them in December. My immune stuff was sent to California by Reprosource themselves - you have no say in that, whether doctor or patient.

This is great - thanks for posting. Do you recall how much the test costs? While shady grove may not do it my primary doctor might as she is the one who had me go see an RE instead of an obgyn. Is the test a blood test or an endometrial swab?

I did the test in 2011. At the time it was $300. Sorry, I didn't realize they no longer exist. The website stills exists... Maybe give them a call just in case? It's a blood test. I received my results within a week.

A friend of mine used Reprosource through Dr. B and her bloodwork still went to RFU so maybe it depends on the test or maybe this is something recent that has changed. She had her baby in November.

Yes I was diagnosed with immune issues and yes I was successful with treatment.

OP here - To those of you who had the testing done - were you diagnosed with immune issues and did the treatment you received help?

I recently used Reprosource and they do NOT run their bloodwork thru RFU. It goes to a lab in california.

13:50 here I did my initial immune testing with AEB and Dr. Abbasi before moving to Dr. B. He ordered a few more tests that had not been done initially.

Dr. B gets blood work to RFU via a company called Reprosource, but Dr. Abbasi's office will get the blood and package it up for you. You just need a fedex account to make things easier then you can just print the label and send it off to RFU.
