All my work (or going out) tops are Calvin Klein or Elie Tahari, which I love. I get them discounted at Loehmann's.

Give me a break ladies. Yes, DC sucks, but got to Bluefly.com, yoox.com or hautelook.com. You will do nicely. Also, Neiman's Last call stores are great.

I've always had great difficulty finding clothes due to my petite size and my intolerance of artificial fibers.
I used to find some clothes at Victoria's Secret in my 20s, now I've discovered Boden and like it. J Crew is overpriced for the quality.
I also like Petit Bateau for underclothes - they specialize in cotton.
