I had the "this is gross halfway through" thing - I had chicken on Sunday night, a lovely piece actually, and half way was like "omg this is repulsive". Ate the roasted potatoes just fine though!

I also wake up every day at 4AM and can't sleep again until 5, and then the alarm goes off at 6 and I'm exhausted. Plus, at 9PM every night I fall asleep on the sofa. My husband thinks it's hilarious. Good think we have a DVR! i'm not tired at work, per se.

because we were IVF, I think these are all GREAT and I'd love to have morning sickness or more signs. But I understand they could be inconvenient for most normal people, especially if you have another child or two!

Congrats all! Not expecting in October but just wanted to say congrats and it is nice to read a thread where people aren't going at each other's throats for once.

I'm 12:09. I totally am beginning to feel queasiness during my commute, dizziness when I stand-up or move around too fast, and am completely exhausted during the day at work, but unable to fall asleep at night. It's such a pain!

Eating is also not very enjoyable this time around, compared with the first pregnancy. I am REALLY into specific things, but then mid-way through get grossed out by them (is this even normal?) and need to throw the rest of the food away. And I can't figure out things that I like, it's one way one day, and another the next. For example, this morning I was really into the idea of an egg and cheese sandwich, but when I was 3/4 through I randomly decided it was gross! WTF?

I'm 5 weeks today, and have my first sono this morning. I'm just hoping to see everything that should be there. Had a sono at 5w2d with my DS, and saw a nice strong heartbeat.

This is #2 for me, and DS will be almost 3 when this baby arrives.
I'm 37.

I love this thread. It's so nice to know others are going through the same thing when I feel like I can't tell anyone in real life.

Congrats, 2147!

Anyone queasy yet? So far I'm just a slight bit queasy in the mornings, particularly when brushing my teeth. I'm only just four weeks so this is really early for pregnancy nausea. I remember with the first that the queasiness and occasional vomiting were awful, and yet somehow reassuring that all was well.

I am 5 weeks today and I am hesitant to be too excited yet, just being a nevous nellie. This is my 2nd. Our first is 26 months (they will be just shy of 3 years apart). I am 34 and will be 35 when this one is born. I am excited to be in touch with so many other DC area moms.

I hope we all have healthy full term pregnancies.

My fingers are crossed, and I'll say a little prayer for you. Good luck and congrats!

Maybe we can just keep this thread going instead of a separate thread?

I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Have my first appointment March 14 with the OB.

I'm due October 13th with my second -- our first is a little (but highly energetic) 14 month old boy. And I'm AMA too -- giddyup old ladies!

12:09, I feel that way too, about introducing a new baby. (OP here) Mine will be four years apart. So in some ways, this is good. We won't have to pay for college at the same time, for one thing. We also won't have two in diapers (but I potty trained DS at 2 so I guess this is accomplishable for most age differences). People have told me that when the age difference is that wide, the older one can help some and likes to be included. We will also have DS in a PK program so he'll have his own things going on.

But, the pros of having them closer together, like you PP, are really clear, too. Better chance they'll be REALLY close all their lives due to the age similarities, less time to have to hold onto clothes (we have 4 years worth of hand me downs in our basement and it's getting out of control!). And sometimes it really just seems easier to have two closer together. We are OUT of baby mode, you know? Things are really-really-really easy around here now and, as you say, we're really introducing chaos into the mix!

I was super hesitant to go for number 2 but now that I'm pregnant the ambivalence has faded away a great deal and I'm psyched. Congrats to you!

congrats OP and everyone else on the thread! i'm due in Oct too (based on my own calculations; haven't had my first sonogram yet so everything feels very speculative). this will be my second and i'm so glad there is a wide variance of us here. . . i'm pretty much freaking out about introducing the chaos of a 2nd child after our family and house has nicely settled into routine with our 1st (18 mos).

i am 31 (will be 32 when i deliver), and was 29-30 with first.

a little more nausea and food aversion-ness with this pregnancy so far, but by and large pretty much the same smoothness as the first pregnancy.
