I work about 50-55 hrs/week for $90K and everyone here is micromanaged big time, even our refrigerator use is managed by the head of the company. and there is no positive feedback, only negative (designed that way), and it's an us versus them management system. yuck. I thought I'd only experience that maybe my 1st few yrs out of school.

5/10. Attorney for the gov't. My work is repetitive and boring. Overall agency morale has been very low for a long time and it's impacting everyone who works there. But, the job is very flexible, I make good money, and I like the people I work with (except the bosses). If money were no object I would still practice law but for a group like Legal Aid.

9/10. I'm a dentist. I love my patients. I love the complexity and the simplicity of what I do. I feel I get paid appropriately for the effort I put in. I give it a 9 b/c I don't like dealing with staff issues and infighting in the office.

1. I have a job some people would kill for, but I hate working.

8. Researcher with a government agency. I love the work. Love my colleagues. LOVE my boss. I could make a lot more in the private sector but the pay-to-hours worked per week balance is unbeatable. For the first time in my working life I am not working weekends and nights. That's pretty awesome.

The only reason it's not a 10 is because my Perfect 10 job is teaching. Used to do it. Loved it. Miss my kids terribly.

Scale of 1 to 10: 1. I really dislike working, especially for other people I don't respect, and right now I have no respect for anyone at my organization. I get through the days dreaming of winning the lottery.

It's all stuff I have never learned about, and I'm the newest person on the team since I've only been with my agency for 5 months. I'm responsible for detailing a large portion of the system processes, and have to read up on all the business rules and requirements daily in order to try and keep up with the management involved. I've also been completing a backlog of financial transactions that no department had been handling since December, so that has been fun as well.

It is all supposed to end in June so I can resume my normal job duties again and not a writing up a bunch of IT things.

This sounds horribly boring

I really love my job. I work with a government agency where I help manage nuclear nonproliferation diplomacy and tech development projects. The work is really fulfilling and challenging, my coworkers are amazing, the pay is pretty good, I get to travel abroad several times a year, the hours are really reasonable, it is super family friendly, there is room for advancement, my work is appreciated, I'm using ALL of my education and I get regular high-value training. I have minor complaints- but when I say them out loud they all sound really petty. Honestly, I know I have a good thing in a crappy economy that loads of other ppl in my field would kill for, and I try never to take that for granted.

Profit and loss. Basically I'm measured on how much money I'm able to generate.

I'm a SAHM. I hate my job. Hate it. I work for tyrants, get zero pay. My hours are 24/7. In theory, I have autonomy, but in practice, I'm run off my feet by the demands of my charges.

Dream job: writer for a TV show right here in Maryland.
