yes I get the same. It's Betts so angry looking the rash. Ans hurts too. I only try to keep it clean but it comes back. Going to have to see my doctor about it as it does really smell.

But it can sometimes appear postpartum when you didn't have it during pregnancy. This is what happened to me and it sounds like what the OP is describing. It lasted a few weeks and I used that black tar soap to help the symptoms.

I don't think postpartum PUPPP is all that rare. I had it as well (after a vaginal delivery but delivery method shouldn't make any difference either way). If it were so rare we wouldn't have been able to find a half dozen people who got it by page 2 of an internet thread.

Honestly OP, having been there with postpartum itching, it doesn't matter what is causing it. It just matters what makes it feel better. Cortisone cream sort of worked for me, benadryl sort of worked, heavy-duty aveeno cream was good too, but all that REALLY worked was scratching. I used to love using a body brush on it in the shower but with the incision maybe that's not an option for you?

I also was one of the rare people to have PUPPS after c-section. Only after one of my three c-sections, though.

OP, i had some sort of red bumpy rash around my incision site that showed up while still in the hospital. the attending OB put me on Keflex, an antibiotic, and it went away…it was a skin infection. i think you need to be seen just to make sure.

Yes, and the fact that you have had three C/S is significant. Latex allergy tends to occur AFTER several surgeries. I got a full blown latex allergy after my fourth surgery. Google latex allergy and you will find out that people who have multiple surgeries come up with it this way. Benedryl and cortisone cream.

You need to inform doctors that you cannot have latex products on you or used with you (gloves, etc.).

I had a Csection on 12-5-13 and that same night got this itch all over my belly. It's basically because of the stretch marks because there was pressure on them and now that pressure is gone so the body is just trying to heal itself. Still haven't found a way to relive it yet. I put hydrocortisone cream in the fridge before I apply it and sometimes that helps but basically you just have to try and ignore it as best you can :/

I had a rash after my c sect. I think it was a reaction to the iodine. I used bf friendly antihistamine and hydrocortisone cream to get rid of it. No docs could diagnose it, I googled it and found the answer online.

Latex allergy, OP.

I got a rash on my legs after my c-section. I assumed it was postpartum PUPPS. I used some homeopathic crap from Whole Foods (b/c I was nursing) & it sort of worked. I think it was some anti-itch cream and dandalion root and some weird soap. I googled PUPPS and got those recommendations from someone's blog. It cleared up in a couple of weeks. Didn't take Benadryl b/c it dries things up and I was waiting for my milk to come in. Hopefully this won't last too long!

It's PUPPS - it's very very rare to get it post c-section/delivery, but I did! It was AWFUL, OP. I had like 3 spots before i delivered, it became FULL blown after (all over my tummy, legs and somewhat on my arms and back. Did it begin in a stretch mark? That's a tell tale sign. My doc wasn't very helpful, but I was finally put on a steroid which helped. Good luck!! I didn't have it my 2nd time around (and i was on the same pain killers etc.)

I had this happen. I've never been so itchy in my life, even with the chicken pox. No idea the cause, it appeared after I left the hospital and went away after about a week.

I had the same thing - think it was an allergy to the material in those mesh panties. Switched to cotton granny panties and used plenty of hydrocortisone and the rash resolved within a week. Good luck!
