Yeah, you're right - it said there were a lot of early decision, early action, and rolling admission (whatever that is ...) for the class. But did it mention what class of school? Perhaps it is all rolling admission at Montgomery College? Who knows? But what we do know ... is there are 9 D1 LAX players. Are there any baseball players? How about soccer? Golf? Tennis? Again - no info on that... but we do know about LAX. And we have heard all about that in recent criminal trials too. I just think this is a weird focus .. unless that is the only good news, and the early decisions were all at bottom tier schools, etc.

The post did not say ## early admits, including to [list schools] ... did not say whether there were any academic scholarships ... etc. The only call out other than just numbers was to LAX players in D1. That's a serious focus on LAX. Were there other sports represented in any division? Who knows...

I'm not a Landon fan. Can't help notice that it has an outstanding arts program. There are many incredible artists who received their early training there. The school also has a fantastic music program. I would have applied for DS, but just couldn't get past the school's neg reputation.

I agree with you OP. The nod to college admissions just seemed like window dressing to mention LAX.

You definitely should! Landon has many excellent teachers who above and beyond every day. Landon has the potential to be a world class institution.

Unfortunately, it will require a change in leadership and priorities which I do not see forthcoming.

I think the intent of this post had backfired. In fact, as I mentioned, with the exception of a school or two, Landon's college admissions appear to be excellent. I will certainly look at it for my son.

As I recall, they had something like 9 kids admitted early to Ivies/MIT, and of those I think only a couple were lacrosse. I personally have always believed the main issue with Landon is an over-involvement of the Board in the day-to-day affairs of the school (discipline being the biggest issue). I was impressed with the college list, though.

But they did, PP. The OP post says that Landon first mae mention of 60 of the 78 students in the senior class being accepted early decsion, then went one to say, " including 9 who will play Div I Lacorsse.

For all I know the LAX players are not getting any scholaship money or just a partial. But, if a school accepts 60 students early decsions, and only 9 of them are LAX plauers , it does seem that the emphasis is largely on those other 51 students, not the 9 , who were mentioned last , btw.

Sorry, that's "Athletic Association" admit. Don't know how it works today with computers, but when I was being recruited by schools in HS, the schools taht were recruiting me would send me my college application in the mail and it had a big " AA" stamp right on top next to where I would write my name and address. Of course, your SAT scores and grades still had to meet certain requirements ( mine more than did ) , but they stamped all the recruited athletes college applications taht way so that , I assume, college admissions would know what pile to put the application in or whatever.....

Atleast that is what I was told , when as a 17 year old kid, I asked the recruiter why my application had a double A at the top .
