Having moved here from the west coast, I find amusing what passes for "sexy" in this town. I'm sure many of you read those stupid high society DC magazines. If you look at the face shots of people at the fancy parties, it's a group of pasty tired looking folk.

Come on, these dudes are not "middle-aged men" they're the Elliott Spitzers (and wannabes) of the political scene. They could be boffing their secretary or any one of the local moms and they know it. The insecure dudes are not the ones turning heads.

I don't buy into that. If anything, I think middle aged men feel under appreciated or, at least, valued primarily for their ability to earn while they slog through their day, their week, their month. Is it too much to say , hey, not bad over there.....I know that , as a woman, when I was younger I hated the attention, but if someone winks at me or compliments me now, I think wow, wasn't THAT nice. I'm sure the men feel this same.

There are a few Landon dads who go to my son's club lacrosse games who seem well put together, even on weekends, sporting bright colored khakis and just perfectly wrinkled oxfords.
