Go to Belfort in Sterling. They have tons of brands including Broyhill. We bought a Rowe and love it. $3k for a sectional, significantly cheaper for a single sofa depending on the fabric you pick.

Restoration Hardware leather couches and chairs. So comfortable ... after 4 years, we have finally gotten past the point where we can get up without actually passing out in them ... and they are so tough. Scratch them, it disappears. Scuff them - doesn't show. Amazing, really.

Yes, we also purchased a couch at value city recently. It is very comfortable, and DH loves it. I was reluctant to go into the store, but we had looked at so many other stores and found either junk, over-priced, or just tacky furniture. I was pleasantly surprised with the value city. OP here. The La-Z-Boy couch we have is NOT a reclining couch (as I said when I first posted). I really do not like the look of the reclining couches and would never buy one.

PP, the problem with our couch is that the seat is shallow for lounging comfortably, the cushions are completely shot, and several are ripping. Also the fabric that is attached to the base of the couch is coming off. It's been our main couch, but I would say that we have not abused the couch in any way, so I am surprised at how poorly it has held up. We have moved 3 times with it, so perhaps that is the problem. It was not pricey when we bought it, so perhaps if you are looking for something a bit pricier at the store you would get better quality.

We're just generally looking for a comfortable, roomy couch that is good for lounging and watching TV, but looks nice (no sagging cushions that have to be fluffed) that will hold up well in the main room of the house with kids and pets. As I said in my original post for others that asked, we would like to spend no more than $2000, preferably less since we also need to get a chair to go with the couch.

You can totally find a great deal or you can totally pimp your sofa.

I got my leather sofabed at Marlo's years ago. (Over 10 years ago). Super comfortable. I don't remember what I paid, but it was under $2k. It has held up very well, and is still very comfortable. Plus, we have the pull-out option if we need it.

What is your price point? That makes all the difference...

We have had excellent, excellent luck with our

1. Crate and Barrel couch ($$$, around $2400 -- not the most expensive, but not the least. Still, owch)

and

2. Our American Leather queen pull-out sofabed. Go try them out. If you like to have a sofabed for company (e.g., all the cousins), or even Grandma who sleeps in the den when she comes for extended stays, this is a great sofa if its kind. Extremely heavy. Comes in all kinds of shapes, sizes, fabrics. Not sleek and elegant but doesn't sound that's what you're going for. American Leather may have changed its name... but quality is good.

And getting an old, used couch for cheap and having it reupholstered isn't a bad idea. You can buy for quality (if it's 50 yrs old and sturdy, you know it's going to last another 50) and get it lookin' just the way you want it for $$ or $$$.
