If you are trying to conceive, I highly recommend Dr Shu Fan at Washington Acupuncture Wellness Center. He is the best fertility acupuncturist in DC area. I lost my period for 3 years. From a friend's referral, I went to see Dr Fan. After a month, I got my cycle back with treatments of herbs and needles. I continued my acupuncture and herb treatments with Dr Fan, after 2 months, I got pregnant. Amazing! It was like a dream. My dream has come true. I am so thankful to Dr Fan.

I have not met a doctor who truly cares about your experience during the treatment and for your overall health. I was new to the city of D.C. and found myself crippled and walking the streets with crutches after spraining my ankle (Grade 3 - Severe). After 6 visits, the swelling and pain of my ankle significantly went down! Because it's a Grade 3 sprain, I will need to be extra careful for the next two months, but I would not have been on this fast track road to recovery without Dr. Shu Fan's help! I highly recommend him!

PP, this is great but you may not have noticed this is on a forum for those trying to conceive so people are looking for acupuncturists who specialize in infertility.

I just began going to Little Bird a few weeks ago. There is no waiting list any longer. I have had no trouble getting appointments and they are very affordable. I am not pregnant yet but hopefully soon. I haven't been elsewhere so can't compare, but I like it so far.

I love City Acupuncture Circle. Very relaxing, and they have tables unlike other community acupuncture so you can get spots you might not get in a chair

Hey, some misconception from one of local fertility clinic about Chinese Herbs, I have sent them a letter.

Hello,

I am acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in DC helping patents overcome fertility. I disagree with your comments regarding to Chinese herbs. It seems you did not have time time studying Chinese herbs. What you listed "blue cohosh, pennyroyal, and red clover" are sold by retailer here. You are treating herbs like OTC drug or vitamins. They are not. And they needs to be prescribed by herbalist based on diagnosis. Also the idea behind the herbs chosen is not because it is single herb or silver bullet. They are given to address unique constitution of patients and grouped as a team like players in football game. This medicine has been there for thousands of years and have tons of treatment records and theories. Especially recent fifties years, there are lots of research done in China regarding to the effectiveness of the herbs. So be careful to judge before you totally understand it. I just hope Shady Grove Fertility Clinic do not misguided patients because of its ignorance of this topic.

I have many patients coming from your clinic. Even though herbs given help, during the IVF/IUI cycle, I advise my patients to consult with their doctors. And I think a coordinated work can help these patients. In the end, we are all happy to see patients fulfill their dream.

Shu Fan

Just found this link but I went to Amy Lewis at Whole Health Associates for both of my pregnancies. I did IVF the first time but I had a natural pregnancy the second time. She is really knowledgeable and kept my headaches at bay during my pregnancies too!

Did your regularity continue once you stopped the acupuncture?

^^ Also Dr. Tran is cheaper than ANY of the other acupuncturists in DC area. But it's very bare bones - simple office, and they use a typewriter.

I came to see Dr. Shu Fan in DC on Sept. 14 2011 following a miscarriage. Dr. Fan put me on a herbal fertility program plus acupuncture. I got pregnant in one month after. The pregnancy has gone very well. The baby latched on in the middle of the uterus. I continued the acupuncture with Dr Fan to induce my labor. My husband and I had a healthy baby son in June 2012. We are so much grateful for Dr. Shu Fan's diligent advice and treatment.
