This forum is taken over every year at this time by concern trolls and hysterics who want reassurance from strangers that their kid will get into the pool with a score of 98%. It's really obnoxious. I wish there was a separate forum just for AAP talk/issues.

Agreed. Honestly, every person in the world has a gift of some sort. Having said, I push my kids to do their best, usually. However, when kids get sick and you are up all night, you realize that their happiness is what matters. So, yes, although I would want my kids in AAP, since older sis is, I really don't care. As long as kids are happy, parents should be happy.

Not OP, but want to mention that 3rd grade CogAt has Stanines listed. I'm new to the county so testing a year later, maybe that's the difference?

OP, I get your humor; however some of the PPs took it to a different level calling their kids morons, even in jest, it is rude to talk about your own. Also, PP, the 2nd grade CogAT doesn't include any information, other than the percentiles, thus my asking about the stanine.

For the record, my 2nd grader scored 99 percent on NNAT and 62 percent on CogAT. This is why the testing is not given as much weight as the GBRS. You can have major discrepancies.

We all need to stop living vicariously through our children and learn to be happy with our own successes and failures. Our kids can't make up for our own dreams not materializing, as many on DCUM appear to do.

I'm not the OP. But it blows me away that people here ruthlessly cut each other and others' children to pieces, yet demand "compassion" from a mom who simply said her kid is average.

My oldest DS is totally average as well, in terms of test scores. He's also the kindest, hardest-working, and most empathetic of my kids. I know these qualities will bring him success in life, and I couldn't be more proud of him.
