Whoever was stopped in the street, a non-parking spot, while letting the kids get out is breaking the law and deserves to be screamed at.

Every day, I have to drive through the gauntlet created by the two charters in my neighborhood, soon to have another charter moving in. Really hate them all driving in from all parts of the city into streets that weren't designed for this kind of traffic. Have to deal with this crap everyday, twice a day... I have to drive my kid to another charter - I'm sure the neighbors feel the same about that charter as I do the ones in my neighborhood. Only in DC...

Perhaps but so what? That person can't wait 30 seconds so that OP can get her kid safely inside the school? Who the fuck is SOOOO important that they can't wait? If they were stuck behind a school bus, they'd be legally required to stop and there wouldn't be a damned thing they could do about it. In the absence of a school bus, it's pretty much the same deal for parents dropping off their kids. OP has my total sympathy and the other parent is a straight up dick.

How was he supposed to know if he wasn't a parent at the school? How would you know that you can't go down that road. How would you know that a particular street has a school drop off at that time. Even if you knew schools were late, I can't imagine connecting that the one way traffic laws are suspended for the day. Why is op so much more important than the other driver, who was following the law.

OP - here. Some of you are so ready to fight that you don't pay attention. The street is unfortunately so narrow that cars can not pass in both directions at the same time. During the drop off and pick up times there is way more traffic than the narrow street can handle. I feel for the people who do live on that street but another parent who is also trying to get his kids to school should not take his frustration out on me as the first of a line of cars. There was no room for his car and he needed to follow around and not try to cut up like everybody else. Yelling at me, about the time did not make room for his car.

In my previous life he would have subjected to a different language not for children and some adults to hear.

If anyone expects drivers to disregard road rules because of a school delay, you are delusional.

Of course I expect drivers to be courteous if there is say, an elderly person being dropped off by someone double parked with flashers on, or a child crossing the street, but THIS is not THAT.

Driving rules, not drubbing. Darn smartphone

People with MD plates routinely use our alley as a road. They drive fast. They rudely repeatedly honk their horns behind us while we are waiting to pull safely into traffic. And it is hard to get their plate numbers to call the cops because it is a stressful and brief interaction.
