I did go ahead and email it, so will see what happens....

What does "in committee" mean? They are discussing the candidates now? Would they not just print the letter and bring it to the discussion ( assuming it means anything to that particular school)?

I think "in committee" means they are discussing candidates now and have probably already made some decisions. And yes, I would assume that they'd print the e-mail and include it in your child's file, which would be reviewed as part of any discussion they may have on your child's application. Good luck!

Yes, that is what "in committee" means -- the admissions committee or admissions team is meeting and coming up with decisions during this time period. I do think they'd print it out and include it unless they'd already reviewed your child's file, or unless internally they have a cut-off about adding things (I don't think schools are generally rigid like a college with 20,000 applications might be, though). Don't stress either way -- personally I've never thought "first choice" letters make that much of a difference -- the more selective places often assume they are your first choice!

It couldn't hurt. At this point, I'd probably send it via e-mail just to make sure they saw it in time. If you end up on the WL, it would probably be a good thing to have on file (I'd also call if you end up on the WL).

Schools I know of are in committee, so I don't know if your letter would make it in a file for review. I suppose it might be of some relevance if you end up on the waiting list?
