There's a book that Wally Lamb put together and edited. It's various stories written by women in prison; he taught a writing class at a women's prison in Connecticut and the women mostly write stories about their lives and what led them to whatever crime they committed. If you can find it, it is truly fascinating and wonderful and would provide some great discussion. It's called Couldn't Keep It to Myself, by Wally Lamb and the Women of York Penitentiary.

I just retread Midnight in the Garden of Good and Advil. Reads like a novel, but it's actually nonfiction. A complete hoot.

These are my three favorite non-fiction books. I couldn't put them down until I finished, and I wished they wouldn't end.

- This Life is in Your Hands: One Dream, Sixty Acres and a Family Undone
- Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea
- Guests of the Ayatollah
