I love bios and memoirs.

There's a book that Wally Lamb put together and edited. It's various stories written by women in prison; he taught a writing class at a women's prison in Connecticut and the women mostly write stories about their lives and what led them to whatever crime they committed. If you can find it, it is truly fascinating and wonderful and would provide some great discussion. It's called Couldn't Keep It to Myself, by Wally Lamb and the Women of York Penitentiary.

Robert massie's bio of Catherine the Great, Portrait of a Woman. She was a survivor and an enlightened woman.

Seriously a great read and sparked wonderful discussion.

I just retread Midnight in the Garden of Good and Advil. Reads like a novel, but it's actually nonfiction. A complete hoot.
