Lice in the old mattresses, BTW, get one of those sheets constructed like a sleeping bag from BB&B. It's in the "Beyond" section. Sorry, just had to throw that FAmily Guy joke in there.
Is it Calleva? My kids hate those trips. Buggy. TIcks (think Lyme disease). Somehow the Calleva trips are supposed to be "spirit and community building". Hardly.
I gather you are talking about the trip taking place now - is the place adequately heated?
In retrospect, 7 is too young for this IMHO unless there is a teacher you really know (and remember the recent arrest of the Potomac/WES man - these terrible incidents do happen and an away trip is where it would happen).
And by all means, if you do send DC, please send them with a cell phone so they can call you and tell you if there was/is a problem. Fortunately, my daughter had one on a [insert well-known name of fumbling private school here] overnight trip. I found out that she was unsupervised (teacher later fired), one disturbed kids was acting out, lots of mean girl stuff going on . I drove up in Maryland and found her unsupervised and crying in a cold cabin. Next year they didn't allow cell phones. THink about it.
This trip is not in DC it's in Panama.
