Yes, this is one of the changes in the online expansion documents and I think it is great change to make.

To repeat, the School Board is NOT suggesting the change. FCPS staff that comprised the Level IV Task Force is the source of the recommendation -- NOT the School Board.

No it's not. It's strictly based on base elementary school to whatever the base elementary school HS pyramid is, whether that kid's house is districted to that HS or not. And, of course, given annual redistrictings, some houses get moved every single year.

Is this Kent Gardens, PP? I understand why KG was moved out of Haycock a few years ago to make room there, but, now if all the kids at Churchill Road go to Cooper and the KG kids to Longfellow, the KG kids will really know very few kids at a huge middle school.

The KG kids really need to be moved back to Haycock in the future. I know the idea of adding kids to Haycock is shocking right now, but if FCPS really wants to keep kids with their peers, making that one adjustment is fair and right for the kids.

I think this situation has been overlooked in all the current craziness. Speak up about it to the Board, the schools and FCPS.

This is not true. Our AAP MS center is currently in our HS pyramid, but the proposal will change that. Our base school MS is not in our pyramid, and that is where our AAP kids will now go. While this is a problem for Gen Ed, it is a greater problem for AAP students, who will be moving around with only 20 or so students, rather than the gen ed population of 100+.

Yes, these changes were proposed by a committee. As far as I know the school board has not given their input yet on this at all.

I'm wondering, too. To stick with that example, would some of the Vienna Elementary students (those that feed to Thoreau/Madison) go to Louise Archer for AAP and other Vienna Elementary students (those who feed into Kilmer/Marshall) go to the new center elemenary school for that pyramid (is it Lemon Road?)
