I am from Baltimore too, but I am white. I totally had forgotten that my grandmother always served Sauerkraut as a side on Thanksgiving. Thanks for jogging my memory on that tradition.

I'm sorry, I forgot the Sweet Potato Pie (I did not know that Pumpkin Pie existed until I was a grown up - I've literally never been to a black person's house who offered a piece of pumpkin pie )


I'm white. The discovery of sweet potato pie when I was in college was a revelation. The Black Students Association sold pies for a fundraiser. Sweet potato pie is awesome! We never have pumpkin anymore.
