Subject: expect to be laid off: better to quit or not?
No shame in being phased out due to reorganization, and future potential employers will understand your situation. Another "don't quit!" vote. And good luck!

Is unemployment based on where the job is, or where you live? I thought it was where the job is. I used to live in dc but lost my apartment and am now crashing with a friend in va but that is not my residence.

Do NOT quit. Get laid off so you can, as everyone else said, get unemployment.

Stay as long as you can and get as much money out of them as possible. Don't feel guilty, it's a dog-eat-dog world.
