We also have big trees around us, but they are healthy. We'll sleep upstairs tonight, basement tomorrow.

We are sleeping in the basement tomorrow, but not tonight. Although we have many trees, we did just have them evaluated after the derecho.

Our basement isn't walk-out and really has only one exit (stairs), so it isn't safe to sleep down there.
