This is not true. If someone gives notice in writing and you don't follow through and that tree causes serious damage you can be totally screwed. Tree laws are evolving because we no longer live in rural communities.

Are you serious with irrational tree phobia or are you a troll? Trees fall on houses and cars and people during and right after major storms. Do you just live in a bubble where nothing bad happens?

I'm an owner with three huge healthy oak trees in our yard. It cost $2K per tree to remove it. I checked into it.

Our one set of neighbors constantly complain about the tree and the leaves. When I rake the leaves, I rake their side also. I wish they'd offer to take down the tree. I so would take them up on the offer. But at the same time it is a really pretty tree.

I am scared that one of the trees will fall. We'll be sleeping in the basement tomorrow. I do not care so much if we lose power, I can deal with that. But if one of those trees goes down - we or anyone around us are done.

This is true, but unless you get someone out to do a survey some people have hissy fits if you cut just over the line. Also, sometimes the problem are on the neighbor's property.

We should, like cut down all the trees everywhere! Who cares if they provide shade, protect our houses from wind, screen noise and pollution, clean the air, filter the water, provide suppr and shelter to millions of birds, insects and small mammals, are beautiful, add value to the neighborhood, and are also part of "God's plan."

She could have sued to force the other people to remove the tree. She didn't, which was probably the decent thing to do. It still makes the other people bad actors.
