Yes, those houses are butt-ugly and it's a shame the proposed development deals probably won't happen. But the price is probably not high for that kind of square footage in Logan Circle. Non-butt-ugly 4-bedrooms are going for much, much more.

I agree that it is not marketed well, the pictures are very amateurish, it's almost like one of these "as is" sales. Here, I am selling this for a bargain as is, take it or leave it, the price is good, clean it up yourself.

I'm an agent and those are collectively some of the worst listing photos I have ever seen. It would take too long to itemize everything that's wrong, but a) those photos are of the furniture, not the rooms; and b) declutter before taking photos; and c) turn off the fucking TV before taking photos; and d) close the toilets before taking photos; and e) the listing remarks mention an eat-in kitchen with granite and a nice patio area of which there are no photos and... I give up.

Wasn't there an article about these house in the WaPo or the City Paper in the last year or so? Something about a developer wants to buy the places, raze them and them build housing more in line with what folks are wanting. But there's some clause where if just one owner holds out, then the deal is dead. Some homeowners think that they can get more than the developer is offering because so many places in the neighborhood are going for close to and even above a million. But then there are others that want to work with the developer and can't because the process is being held up. Let me see if I can find it. I'm fuzzy on the details, but that's what I remember...

Not the PP making that observation, but geez, it's like in your face--not one but TWO closeups of open toilets. The whole listing was deeply depressing, quite the opposite of what I want when I surf RE listings and far more important, a total turnoff for potential buyers. I half expected to see a meth lab in one of the pix. And was that giant TV next to a crib???
